Trainee Testimonies
Being at the heart of the school 4 days a week means you quickly learn the skills and knowledge needed to succeed on the course and puts you on track to become an outstanding teacher. Whilst intense, the speed at which you learn is staggering and the reward you get from the children's response to a great lesson or placement makes it all worth while. The mentors are great and the TLSE team have been quick to respond to any concerns and have been very flexible with their approach. The year has flown by and I can't believe that I am already applying for jobs! Even here you get lots of support to ensure that you land your perfect job, regardless of whether that is within the SOLA network or not.

"In 2018, having decided to change careers from law to teaching following a career break to have three children, I was keen to embark on the PGCE. Despite having an offer from the Institute of Education at UCL, I opted to qualify as teacher through the Schools Direct route via Teach London South East and TES. I was immediately struck by the friendly and welcoming environment at The Highway Primary School, the supportive and dedicated team at TLSE and the proximity of the school to my home and children's school, allowing me much needed time and flexibility despite teaching and observing 4 days a week. The TES programme allowed me to fit my extra academic studies around my busy home life and the online nature of the learning meant I could manage my own time effectively. I genuinely thoroughly enjoyed my PGCE year, demanding though it was, and would highly recommend TLSE to anyone considering training to be a teacher."
